COVID-19 Officer Duties

COVID-19 Officer Duties

At all practices and games, a league-trained COVID-19 Officer must be present.  Below are the required tasks for the COVID-19 officer.

COVID-19 Tasks:

1) Contact Tracing - an email should be composed at the start of each practice or game listing the players who are in attendance and whether they passed the temperature check or not (ie: who was sent home if necessary).  This email should be sent to [email protected] during the practice or game so we can track that it was done at the appropriate time.

2) Temperature Testing - at Douglas Field (behind Subway) and Pennell Field (behind Town Hall) in Gray, we are required to test that all players have a temperature below 100.4F.  Temperature monitors will be provided by the league and stored in the snack shack at Pennell and the "Bomb Shelter" at Douglas.  If a player has too high a temperature, ask them to rest in an isolated location for 5 minutes and then test again.

3) Sanitizer Duty - at all fields, the COVID-19 Officer should operate the sanitizer station for their team ensuring that all players sanitize when coming off the field.  They should also sanitize catcher's gear before and after the game (and between uses if it is shared between players which would be discouraged).  Baseballs should be sanitized occasionally throughout the game as needed.  Each team will have their own ball supply to discourage mixing of touched objects.

4) Crowd Control - Crowds are limited to 100 people including players at Douglas and Pennell Fields.  Enforce social distancing at all fields and ensure families are in designated family areas.

5) Gear Checkout - the league is checking out helmets and bats to players who need them for the season.  Please email [email protected] with the gear type, player name, and the gear number (engraved on the items) that are checked out to the players.  Baseball gear will be in the Penney Container and softball gear will be in the Pennell Snack Shack.

Sanitizer will be stocked at the Pennell Snack Shack (key required), Douglas Snack Shack and Bomb Shelter (storage bunker), and the Penney Container.

If any difficulties arise, please email [email protected].
