Assessments
Assessments – All new and returning players ages 7-12 must be assessed.
The players age, evaluation scores and the number of teams in each division will decide which division the player will be placed in.
Players of age 12 are required to play in the Majors division but still must assess as their evaluation scores will be used for team drafting purposes.
Returning players who fail to assess MUST play at the division level of the previous season.
To speed up the process please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled time and have your Medical Release Form (see Documents section of this web site) completed, Birth Certificate and proof of residency. For those players ages 9 thru 12 who want to be considered for all stars please bring 3 proofs of residency. IE: driver’s license, utility bill, car registration. Proof of Residency must be dated between the following dates: Feb 1 2015 - Feb 1, 2016. Please try to register before assessments.
Assessment Schedule
-Assessment will be held March 5th at the GNG Middle School.
8:30 - 9:30 11 - 12 Softball
9:30 - 10:30 9 - 10 Softball
10:30 - 11:30 7 - 8 Softball
11:30 - 12:00 Break
12:30 – 1:30 11 – 12 Baseball
1:30 – 3:00 9 – 10 Baseball
3:00 – 4:30 7 – 8 Baseball
3 to 5 independent evaluators will watch each player preform drills that involve fielding ground balls, catching pop-ups, making throws, hitting and running. They will receive a score (10-0) for each discipline as compared to the top 12 year old player, the evaluators combined score will be their assessment score.
The assessment score will be one factor used to determine the appropriate division for each player and used during the team assignment/draft.
